Immerse yourself in a week long course at Annemarie and Tom’s studio in East Sussex.

This is an in-depth week of willow weaving, working through the basics of round willow basketry from start of finish. You will make at least two pieces of work during the course and will be able to add handles.

The skills learnt on this course will enable you to continue exploring your creativity through basket weaving at a later date. For intermediate basket weavers this course will give you an opportunity to further your existing skills and explore more complex weaving techniques.

We will have a celebratory dinner out on the penultimate evening.

This is suitable for total beginners, and intermediate basket makers too. 


Our studio/home is in Isfield, East Sussex, which is 1-hour south of London and 45 minutes from Gatwick International Airport.

ACCOMODATION: We can help arrange for you to stay locally – either in Isfield or the historic town of Lewes. Please contact us if you would like help or advice booking accommodation.

TRANSFERS: If you are travelling from abroad we can pick up from Gatwick International Airport for a cost of £35 or from Lewes or Uckfield train stations at no charge.

Tools, books and willow will be available to purchase at the end of the course.

East Sussex has a huge variety of places to visit and things to do. The historic town of Lewes has many shops, restaurants, cafes and sights to see - Lewes Castle, The Grange Gardens, Priory ruins to name a few. The surrounding area also offers a great selection of creative sights if you would like to extend your visit: Charleston Farmhouse - Firle, Ditchling Museum – Ditchling, Glyndebourne Opera, De La Warr Pavilion - Bexhill, Jerwood Gallery - Hastings, Brighton Museum, Towner Gallery – Eastbourne.

The course will run with a maximum of 6 students.

Course Terms and Conditions:

Your place on a course is only secured by booking and paying in full in advance. 


If you cancel having paid, I'll refund 90% of your fee if I'm able to fill your place. If I'm not able to fill your place you’ll forfeit your fee. I will make every reasonable effort to find someone to take your place. If you book and pay but do not attend the course, no refund will be given. No refunds can be given if you cancel or fail to attend. In the unlikely event that I need to cancel the course, you’ll receive a full refund. Bookings are not transferable.


A certain level of physical ability is required for these courses. My aim is to make my willow days accessible but if you do have mobility issues please contact me before you book. My courses are designed for adults, however, age 15 + olds are welcome if accompanied by a responsible, participating adult.
